6.8 x 43 mm ?

Ok let the cat out of the bag.

Just what is it? Heard that it suppose to fit in an AR, better than 223?

Remmington is suppose to be doing it.

It's a real pity that politics will not allow the 6.5 cal to be standardized. would solve alot of development and give the troops a well developed calibre.

Oh well, at least it creates jobs in the R&D arena. Reinventing the wheel makes for nice fat wallets...

I read something about a 270 also. Time to get rid of both the jam o matic ar and that 223 at the same time.

Jerry Teo

Who said that they are not working with a 6.5 now?

Both the MC and Army are looking at it.

Another giant step to the rear!

In 1945 the British had the .280 British...
In 1952 the Czechs had the 7.62x45...
In 1943 the Russians had the 7.62x39...

Is America going to spend another few billion dollars re-inventing the wheel?

Probably...and unfortunately none of the politicians who insist on a new cartridge will ever have to fire one in either an offensive or defensive position!

Bring back the .308, better yet, bring back the .30-06!

Yea bring back the 30-06!

One of the oldest members of our club just passed away. Joe J. was a marine who fought in the S. Pacific against the japs. He said they were issued AP for the Garands as it would penetrate their bunkers made from logs better.

Just getting my digs in on that M-16. From what I saw on TV of them jamming in Iraq and those long ranges in Afaganistan that's not dink rifle country.
