6.5/284 in a Rem 700 short action?
Has anyone managed to fit a 6.5/284 into a Rem 700 short action? I'm thinking of building one but suspect I will not be able to open the magazine enough to make sure it remains a repeater.
Can anyone help?

It can be done, but you will need a Wyatt's extended magazine box.

Awesome, thanks. As it is hard to get rifle parts of of the states, I think I'll have to build a mag box myself.
Will a 3.00" mag box be long enough when seating 140gn bullets?

I'll have to check the base to point length on mine and let you know. The only snag you might run into is a loaded round will not eject from the port without releasing the bolt stop and sliding the bolt back a little.

Thanks again, looking forward to finding out how long your C.O.A.L are.
I don't want to get into the project without knowing it will work 100%
