Re: 375 Allen Magnum's first hunt

Shumba, While I dont have a 375 AM I have shot one. In fact I managed a 6" group @ 1620 yds on a steel plate with Kirby spotting. He stopped me shooting so he could go take a couple of pictures. LOL What I really related to however, was your obvious pleasure and wonder with one of Kirby's creations. I have a 338AX and I experience that same wonder and awe every time I take it out. So I know precisely how you feel. Aint it swell!! Oh, by the way, you best tie a long string on that rifle so you can find it if you ever set it down in that country! Have fun with those sheep and good shooting!

Jim

Roy: time is crawling along but you'll be back behind the stock before ya know it.

Re: 375 Allen Magnum's first hunt

Roy,
4 time since last Thanksgiving?!?!?!? Isnt that some type of mortal sin? lol

Jim,
You are right, his rifles are things of perfection arent they? I cannot wait to get some more trigger time. I planned to air it out a little this sunday but due to a severely botched Cerakote job done by what was supposed to be a reputable cerakoter in the DFW area of Texas where I live I must part with it for a few days. After sending pics and video to the makers of Cerakote they told me to send it to them and they would re do the botched job Gratis, as the person that did the job was a authorized Cerakoter. Aparantly they stand behind the people they autorize to use their product and will fix it themselves if something is not right, they seem to be good folks up there. So with that I am overnighting the rifle to NIC Industries to be re done and be back to me on Tuesday of next week.

Nice looking rifle, and great shooting! The cull hunt should be big fun with that rifle! We expect a full report. I should be getting my 338 AM in few months. I am waiting very patiently.

It did......unfortunately it also flattened another goat @10 yards behind him as well! It was a doe. I called the game warden for that area and told him what had happened. I have known him for quite a few years and we resolved the issue fairly painlessly. the doe meat did not have to go to waste. I was able to get it processed and donated to some people that needed it. I did not see the female bedded behind the goat I shot or I wouldn't have taken the shot. Live and learn....lol.

Great story and pics, thanks for posting. One of these days I'll be hunting those sheep... one day soon hopefully.
