338 pills?

Anyone shot any 225 grain Hornady Interbonds? If so, what did you find for b.c.? They are listed at .433 but in comparing them to Nosler's 225 grain Accubond, they are just as long, have longer boattails than the AB's, less bearing surface, and a secant ogive shape. In other words, they look like they would be higher bc than the Nosler but the AB's are rated at .550.

Also, anyone heard the scoop on Hornady's match 250 grainer? It was supposed to be out yet I haven't talked to anyone who's seen them yet. They are listed on their website as being available?

I have not used those specifecly, but in every other hornaday bullet I have used I have found their published BC's to be much lower than in the real world.

I just found a load for a 338 ultra mag with the 225 interbond that "drills 'em" with amazing consistency and the same gun absolutely laughed at the Accubonds with 8 (yes I said 8!) different powders! So this gun is getting an Interbond diet but I was nervous about such a low published BC. I'm going to go test this bullet and load at 1k soon and will report my findings.

It's just this one rifle. It loves 250 SMK's and Interbonds but hates Accubonds.

in my 338 rum I have tested the 250 hornady soft point and the 250 accubond with the same load of 98 gns rl25 out to 800 yds. i found that the point of impact to be no more than 4" differance.

I have found the 225 Hornady sst to be a bit soft up close. Not tried them on game past 250 yards yet. They do shoot good groups at 100 yards.

The old lead tip 225 grain Hornady is my standard load for Sambar deer out of my .338WM and has worked well for me for a long time.

I have a bunch of 250 grain Hornady HPBT match bullets and they group well at 100 yards. I have not shot them on game yet but have a few loaded up and they will be used the next time I take a shot at game. I did shoot a Sheep with one just the other day. We decided to kill one of our sheep for the freezer so I thought I would try out one of my 250 Grain match pills.

I will not be doing that again!!! I wanted the sheep for the dinner table but after the big 250 grainer blew it the the shizen house at a range of twenty feet, all we had left was the rear leggs.
