Re: 338 Edge high velocity?

One more consideration, I chamber my rifles to feed through the 3.820" Wyatts box. With your load seated loads, if you consider the amount of case capacity that the 300 gr SMK takes up with 100 thou seating depth, its noticable and would certainly add some to the top performance level you will get.

If you have a barrel on the fast side with these long loaded rounds, I do not see why 2900 fps would be unrealistic.

Just keep track of your firings per case and that will tell you more then anything with pressure.

The nice thing about the RUM case is that it will show you pressure sooner with primer pockets loosening up sooner then say a Lapua case. That is not a bad thing, especially in a Rem 700 rifle.

Wow.

Thank you Fifty Driver for the info. Your posts are always very informative. I am not unhappy with the velocity at all I just was wondering if something weird was going on. If our weather ever lifts I am going to go out and shoot at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 600 yards to see how much it is dropping. The 93 grain load shoots about 1/4 MOA better than the 92 grain load so I would like to stick with it. I may also verify with another Chrono.

Re: 338 Edge high velocity?

Hey guys i was just wandering if yall could tell me if i could safely get 2850fps with my 28" hart barrel. Reason for asking is mostly all i see is 30" barrels on here. It has a trued remington action on it if that matters.

thanks guys
Nathan
