Re: 308 loading

old fart,

IMR has to listings for 4198 one for 110gr bullets and other for 180gr bullets the 110 is listed for 38grs of 4198, 180 is for 33gr 4198 you should be able to get 2500 with 34-35gr but start at 33gr and work up

good luck,
Brian

Re: 308 loading

Old fart,

In the future, if you ever want a really dense accurate 150 grain load at 2500 FPS, try RL-19 at 50-52 grains and 4350 at the same. Velocities are around 2485-2525 and the accuracy will astound you with the 150-155 grain bullets!

Re: 308 loading

just got back from the range - only shot about a dozen , ended up at about 2500 fps , 36 gr - right about 80%density , no pressure signs at all . I'll try again tommorrow before it snows . I would rather shoot different powder ,just have a lot of 4198 , thanks
