Down here in the South the deer aren't too large I prefer the 110 gr Sierra hp setting on a load of imr4350. Have killed several deer with this load 400yds.

    Terry,

    If your ranges are 500 or less....shoot the 168.. Sierra match King or the 168 Nosler competition at about 2700-2800 fps and go hunting.. Used 'em both and the deer are dead!!

    I shot steel silhouettes for ten years with the 308. The only bullet I ever used was the Hornady 190 gr BTHP match. For deer I just switched to the 190 gr Hornady BTSP. At this time I don't emember what powder I used but it was a compressed load. I have it written in my old chronograph book. The 190 worked well at all ranges. [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]
