300gr .338 Berger. any info?

I heard that berger is reworking the 300gr 338 bullet, and I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of wait time we are looking at? i did a search trying to find out anything but came up empty handed.

i'm getting a 338-378 built, and would like to shoot those bullets, but wondering how long I'll be waiting for the new ones.

thanks again

as of a couple weeks ago, they did not even know why their current bullet was having problems. so I was told there was no ETA.

thanks for posting. i just called them this week, and they said the redesign was complete, and any of the old 300gr bergers can be sent in for a replacement for free.

they told me that the nose slump issue was fixed and they are fine in higher velocity rounds. they also said the the bullets you'll find in stores should be new ones as they have been shipping.

i hope this is true. i think i sounded a little skeptical on the phone, but he assured me that the problems were fixed already.

i just ordered 250 of the new ones. well, i hope they are the new ones. the new ones should shoot just as good as the old ones right? except they can be pushed harder.

I thought I had read that new ones were going to be intrduced under a new part #. Seems like it would be awfully easy to get mixed up otherwise. Anyone out there know for sure?

Re: 300gr .338 Berger. any info?

If this is true I am even more disgusted with berger. Bryan had me do a test with the hybrids and then I called him three times and left three messages and got no phone call returned so in the meantime I traded mine to a member here and because of usps damaging the packaging I never received all of what I should have. I am still short 68 bullets to use and also burned up 43 bergers testing then testing something for Bryan. So basically Berger cost me a lot of money and caused a lot of aggrivation.
