Re: 300 ultra mag bullets
I can tell you from much personal experience with both the AB and the Scirroco that the scirroco is the better bullet for big game. It is a tougher bullet with better controled expansion. It is the best bullet I have found other than a monometal. Since you didn't find the bear nobody knows what happened but I 99% guarantee it wasn't the bullets fault. I am not saying the accubonds are bad because they are an excellent big game bullet. But the scirroco's are better.
MontanaRifleman, Good to hear from you , Where the heck have you been.

Re: 300 ultra mag bullets
Thanks LTLR, ...where have I been? Good news and bad news... the good news is I finally got busy (real busy) working again toward the end of the summer and the bad news is I completely missed last hunting season . Haven't fired a rifle in months! I plan to remedy that this year

Re: 300 ultra mag bullets
LTLR,
If there is one thing in life that I have learned is the experience is the best teacher. From experience comes two things. 1- real results and 2-precieved results.
My experince with the Scirroco bullet had both real and precieved resulsts.
In the end I, and most everyone, has to go with what they believe in.
I always am open to advice as I have asked for yours, at times, in the past.
On this matter I am sticking with the Noslers though.
Sorry for getting off track for this thread.

Well they are man made, and I do not believe that there is such a thing as zero defects. I think both bullets are very good bullets, but I do agree with LTLR that the Scirrocco is the better bullet for terminal ballistics.

Re: 300 ultra mag bullets
RockyMtn, That is exactly why I said 99%. I got a batch of 225 accubonds a couple years ago that would blow into a thousand peices at impact. Complete bullet dissintegration on impact. I think that was a bad batch. So I say 99% sure.
RH300UM, You are shooting a good bullet with the 200 grain accubond. I use it often in my 300 RUM. I am just saying that unless there was a defect in the swift it is a tougher more dependable bullet from tests I have done. Both are on the top end until you get to monometal bullets.
