But, Im trying to obtain 3100-3150 with a 200-210gr bullet, and get 1/2" or less groups. I'm working with Retumbo, Fed 215 GM primers, and Rem brass.
Tang trying to get that kind of speed with a 300 win mag ! To get those velocities with a 180 gr would require a max powder charges.

    Tang,
    your on the right track.
Why own a 300RUM if your not going to take advantage of the case capacity. Otherwise, just use your 300WM and 190gr Berger.

Now that VV N-570 is on the market I am going to give it a whirl. Have had good luck with N-560 in my 243. About 150fps faster than another powder that I have used for 90-95g BT and Scirocco with accuracy .5 to .6 at 200yds.

Have a feeling that with 208 Amax and 210 Vld's will give the velocities that will make the RUM really stand out.

I might try to find some VV powder.

I have next week off from work. So I will get some range time then. Right now, I have three sets of three loaded up.

    200gr Gameking
    Fed 215
    93.5, 94, and 94.5gr of Retumbo
    3.62" coal

Just using these as a feeler. I'm hoping I can get upwards of 95.5gr, but my gun has a really tight chamber. Thats why I stopped at 94.5. If any of these show promise, then I'll get the chrono out.

Tang I thought you had a 300 Win Mag ? If its a 300 RUM you have, then you'll easily be able to get to the 3200 fps mark with 95grs of Retumbo.

Yes, the rifle in question here is a .300 RUM Sendero II. I do have a .300 Win Mag though.

    Tang,
Take this for what it is worth:
    300RUM working pressure of 64,977psi
    COAL w/ 200gr SMK @ 3.620
    27" barrel
Start pressure of 3626( +0.020 off lands)
    95.9gr Retumbo= 3050fps @64,373psi 101.5% case capacity
    97.35gr N570=3124fps@ 64,954psi 98.3% capacity
