300 rum is a beast!!

I've been loading and trying different powder charges and different bullet weights also different bullets depths for my new Sendero 300 RUM and have come to the conclusion that this thing is a BEAST!!..To make a long story short, I have loaded 3 different bullet weights 165gr-180gr and 200 grain using 3 different powder charges for each bullet. I used the data from the newest nosler load data book edition#7. As far as depth goes ain't got much choice but to go with the 3.600 OAL so it will fit in the magazine. Tried some 3.550 OAL but didn't see a lot of difference in the 2 bullets. But as far as the bullet weight and Retumbo powder charge, the gun liked the heaviest powder charge and the heaviest bullet the best!!..My gun seems to like the 200gr accubonds with 91.5 grains of powder the best and didn't do too bad with 180gr. ballistic tips with 93 grains of retumbo...To me this gun is truly a beast!! The harder I push the gun the more it likes it. Has anyone else that owns one of these animals seem to notice this too??

Hmmmmm....... 102.7 grains of 33 pushing a 200 grain LRX 3300 fps in a factory sendero.... Or just loaded a ladder of 33 from 101 to 103 grains of 33 pushing a 230 target in my custom 300 rum starting at 3100 fps....

No not sure what your talking about!!!!

Remember.. To tame the beast, you need a assassin brake!!

Here is the custom...

I'm shooting 95gr of Retumbo with 210 vld hunting. Getting 3160 for m.v. and an oal of 3.675". The more powder I pushed the better they shoot. Getting just under .5 moa with the load. It is just starting to show pressure signs

Re: 300 rum is a beast!!

My shoulder will take alot more pounding then my ears. Only braked rifle i have is my stw and its brutal to shoot at a deer in the field if you dont have time to put in plugs. My ultra has no brake and isnt going to get one. I dont find it any more unconfortable to shoot then my 300 wby or even my 3oowsm or win mag. As a matter of fact that light little wsm will get on me more then any of the others.
