30-06, 168 Sierra Match King, imr 4350
Looking for load info from Sierra (don't own that load manual yet).
Planning on using IMR 4350, along with a 168 SMK in a 30-06, using R-P cases. Can someone supply suggested Starting, and suggested Max for this this combination?
Is there a particular powder that shined in your 30-06 using SMK's?
Thanks in advance.

Re: 30-06, 168 Sierra Match King, imr 4350
I use a 30-06 for my long-range target shooting. I shoot a 190 SMK in front of 56.2 grs. of H4350. Not sure how far off the lands, they are 3.385 OAL (to the tip of the bullet). I have not tried anything else yet. This was the load that the guy I bought the gun from used. I shot a 6 inch 3 shot group at 1000 yards the other day and it shoots 5 into 1/2 inch all day long at 100. I know this wasnt the exact data you were looking for, but just though I'd thow in my .02 worth.

Re: 30-06, 168 Sierra Match King, imr 4350
yep, 50.0 gr. of RL 15 is excellent in both of my 06 Sako 75's. 1/2 MOA.
Also, 50.0 gr. of IMR 4064 is also outstanding. I've done lots of 06 load testing and these two powders always seem to shine over the 4350's in my rifles, at least. good luck.

From Sierra's manual:
OAL = 3.340"
26" universal receiver:
IMR-4350
MIN. = 48.7 gr. (2400 fps)(86% by volume)
MAX. = 55.7 gr. (2800 fps)(98.5% by volume)
Favorite powder for that case is V V N-550.

S00000, 190's seem to be the ticket for a 30-06 then?
So far, all I have is a bunch of once fired REM cases, and some 168gr and 200gr smk's from a .308 and 300 RUM project respectively. Never tried the 168's in the 300 yet, the 200's foul bad enough.
Back to the 30-06 - please share your pet primer/powder/bullet combo that worked for you.
Thanks!

You guys using the 30-06 for a target rifle: There is a guy that posts on snipersparadise.com that has used a 30-06 for his 1000 yard rifle for a long time. He absolutely swears by RL22 under a 190 grain SMK with lapua cases.

Re: 30-06, 168 Sierra Match King, imr 4350
All of those are great loads "because the 06 has a spread of loads and because it is a great weapon". I am currently using varget and w852 because i have large amount.
The issue is that i can find a load from these that my 06 likes. I will be patient and find it. My 308 likes varget powder from 125gr to 168gr. Bullets. These are for my benchrest loading.>>>chaz
