.284 nosler custom comp in a 7rem mag

Going to start reloading for my 7 mag. I saw these 168 custom comps and was curious if anyone has shot any game with them. I primarily hunt coyotes and paper, so I would imagine it will kill just fine. Anyone have any info they could share? Were they easy to load for, accurate, etc?

Thanks

I've shot a bunch of the 7mm 168 Nosler CC's...But only at paper. I wouldn't use them on game.

They were just as easy to load for as anything else... They were fairly accurate. They were definitely a target bullet and not a hunting bullet, they were a very inexpensive bullet to manufacture, as the tips and meplats were not concentric.

Once again, I personally would never use them on any live animal.

If you want a 168gr bullet to use on game, try the Berger 168 VLD, 168 Classic Hunter, Barnes 168 LRX, or a Nosler 160 Accubond, or 150gr Nosler Ballistic Tip (for yotes, NOT deer).

Thats good to know. They are so cheap I will have to pick some up to shoot targets with. I wish I could get some 162 amax's. I guess I will see what I can do with the bergers.

Re: .284 nosler custom comp in a 7rem mag

Trim em and tip point and they work better. I use Nosler CC for high power. Not .284 cal.

Accuracy and precision are a philosophy and point of view.

For precision paper punching for fun, being able to detect that more than one bullet hit the target is not precise enough for me.

For competition, winning or improving is accurate enough, if I win I don't care about the precision.

For hunting precision and accuracy means one shot.

If it were me (IIWM) I'd shoot em for fun and comp, tipped but not for hunting. Oh yeah, I do.
