.270 WSM in 22\" barrel

I was just curious as to how efficient a .270 WSM would be in a 22" barrel. Most factory rifles that I have seen chambered for .270 WSM have a 23"-24" barrel. Would there be a lot of performance loss between a 22" and 24" barrel (all other things being equal)? Thanks in advance for any replies!

I think you could with that caliber plan on 50-75 fps loss per inch. I wouldnt choose a 22 inch barrel for the 270wsm myself. Sort of defeats the point of that caliber in my opinion.
