.270 Winchester...

Am I the only one that feels it would great to have a .270 bullet with a high BC? With it sitting smack dab between the 6.5's and 7mm's, it should definitely be possible.

Also, the sheer number of .270 rifles in circulation would make the high BC match bullet a decent seller. I keep on thinking about building a rifle on the 6.5-06, however, if I could get a decent bullet, I have all the .270 junk I need to shoot forever.

What do you think?

Berger bullets is suppose to be coming out w/a .277 vld bullet very soon.

I called there and a lady hollared over to Eric at berger and he hollared back -september-ish ?
Maybe they are being boxed up as we speak .

I to have a 270 win and am looking forward to shooting some of the vld's..

I called berger again today and spoke with Andrea in customer service- the word is -they are running a little late with the .277 caliber bullets. She said they should be ready late next month [oct.].

She offered this info. -there will be three different bullets -a 130gr =good bc but not a vld style bullet.

Two VLD bullets 140 and 150gr -the 150gr will top .6 bc .

These will make a 270wsm a hot tomale .

I had posted a while back about going to 6.5-06 or 6.5 gibbs because I have a 270 and the selection of .277 bullets sucked. Maybe I should rethink this because I already have all the reloading stuff for the 270 but the match bullets.

We're on the same wave-length SES50 ,i commented on your 6.5-06/6.5 gibbs post and i too have a 270 in a rem 700.

I just haven't been able to get fired up about the gun -but maybe the bergers will change that .
