You might want to consider bumping it with another chrono as I did. I pushing the 175 Matrix VLD at MV=2801 FPS and SD=FPS using 57.5 H1000, BR2, Win brass out of 30" Lilja barrel, 1:8, 3-groove @ ~3300 FT while fire-forming to .270 AI.

Just a thought.

Re: 270 Win and 165/175 Matrix Range Report

I am getting light flattening of the WLR primer with no heavy bolt lift or sticky extraction.

The barrel is a 1:10 twist, 6 grove McGowen. Most will not be able to stabilize these bullets with a 1:10 due to altitude.

Feenix, what do you mean bumping with another chrono?

Compare with another chrono to validate the readings you're getting from the loaner chrono. My shooting chrony readings were 10-15 FPS slower than my friend's CED M2 chrony.

That sounds like good advice. Only issue is I had a had tough time getting just one chrono!

Re: 270 Win and 165/175 Matrix Range Report

I can't go over 57.5 grains of H1000 without overly flattening primers and occationally getting some gas leakage around the primer. These loads the 165 Matrix at 2840.

I am starting to transition over to Retumbo for these loads...I can get some additional velocity...close to 2890 before I get into pressure signs.

H1000 is now the go to powder when using the Nosler LRAB in my rifle.
