No more so than other over bore cartridges... like the .264 Win Mag and 6.5x300 RSAUM {wildcat}... Keep it clean, don't shoot it so hard it over heats the barrel and use proper components and power; it should last quite awhile. Its not really burning up the barrel, it's eroding the throat, deteriorate it just a head of the free bore where the lands and grooves start.
If your going to shoot it a little hard and you think you might erode the throat... put an extra inch on the barrel length, that way you can set the barrel back a few times if the throat starts to go south on you.
