264 Win Mag ?

Wow I am lovin this forum. Anyone know what twist Rem. has for their Model 700 in CDL with fluted 26" Barrel? Cant find info from Rem. website or the paperwork it came with. How can I find out what it has, I know that there is a way with a cleaning rod and a patch? havent mess with it yet.

TR220swift,
Welcome to long range hunting!
It's easy to check the twist. Run a tight fitting patch 3/4 of the way down the barrel, then back and forth a little until it is freely moving in both directions. Take a piece of scotch tape about 1 1/2 inches long and wrap it around the cleaning rod exactly even with the end of your bore guide, sticking the two sticky sides of the tape together forming a pointer pointing straight up. Pull the rod back until the tape pointer points straight up again. Measure from the tape to the bore guide. The distance is your twist rate.
