264 win mag and 120ttsx range report

I recently had a 264wm built on a trued R700 action with a 27" Lilja 9 twist barrel #3 contour for my father. It is bedded in a nothing fancy wood adl stock with a Leupold 3x9x40 scope. Due to scope limitations I settled on a tougher bullet that would have some speed to 300-400 yards. I chose the 120ttsx.

I chose to shoot groups at 300 yards with different seating depths and .30 off the lands produced an 1.5" 3 shot group. At the same time I wanted to see what kind of penetration I could get at 300 yards. behind my thin plywood target was a box filled with wet phone books.

264wm 120ttsx AV velocity 3392 with an es of 17.
Average penetration at 300 yards was 10-11" impact velocity of 2712.

I did screw up and not collect bullets after shooting 12 in the box and some bullets hit other bullets. I did see they are still expanding. I think they will make a great hunting round for several big game animals.
