I have a weatherby vangard sub MOA. I'm shooting 100 TTSX Barnes bullets in front of 64.0 IMR4350 (should be around 3500 fps. My gun is zero'd @ 100
@ 200 I use 1MOA & 300 2MOA and am right on. Can someone give me a guess on the 400 drop? Also 10 mph wind drift numbers to go with. BC is .357
I don't have a computor at home and my work email blocks all the weapon/bullet sites. Thanks alot. Going to MT next week for SpeedGoats!
With a caliber like the 257wby I set mine up with a 300 yard zero. About 2.5" high at 100 and 8" low at 400. Id recommend at least 200 yard zero.
To answer your original question at 400 yards it would be about 4.25moa.
I took a little look at my load data for my 26 inch cdl and my old 24 inch vanguard my buddy now owns and If your getting drop figures from a book and dont have a chronograph id suggest backing off a bit on your expectations. Both of my guns loaded the same (same weight bullet same charge but a differnt bullet) went closer to 3350 then they did 3500.
Going to range tomorrow, think I'll split the differance and try 4.75 for starters. I don't like using one zero and guessing. I thought by giving my dope numbers someone might have simalar #s for comparision. Thanks guys!
