25-06 Problem

Shooting a 25-06 and groups are 3 to 4 inches at 100yds. They are in line at about a 45 degree angle. Is this an indication of bedding in the stock or is it the load ?

Homer: has the rig shot better in the past under the same conditions, using the same loads? Is this a new to you rig? Have you changed anything in the equipment. I know lots of questions, but we need more information please!

Gun was used when I got it. It has never grouped. Hand loading 115 Nosler Part and 120 NP using several differnt powders. Bullets seated back from lands about .010. Leupold 4.5x14x50 and it is not moving in the rings and this scope shot on previous rifle. Stock is Boyd laminated - recoil lug bedded and barrel is floated.

mine shoots better at 3.200 col using 115nbt,tried several bullets closer to lands and no good.h-4831 is hard to beat.

[/ QUOTE ] If it where mine, I would think the first problem is in the barrel. You might want to ship it off to a good accuracy gunsmith for his evaluation. Money spent this way may save you problems in what ever you learn, decide to do. I have a problem with any new to me rifle accuracy is to get down and dirty with cleaning the barrel, checking all screws for tightness, known good scope or what the hay a summer of lots of time worrying over and loosing valuable time trying to make it work.

Had the same problem,
I bought a used Rem sendero 25-06 and couldn't get it to shoot better than 1.5" no matter what combo I tried. I started looking at how the action was bedded and what a surprise I had. When the front action screw was tightened the barrel would move up!!! The factory bedding was a joke it was visable bending the action! I bedded the action and then I got it to shoot 75 vmax's at 3600fps using RL 19 and shoots 1/2"

Also I was told by someone wlse and I found it to be true with mine also the factory barrels are very rough and the get a lot of copper build up. I have to clean mine with copper solvent after 20 rounds or the acuracy goes to pot.
