Re: .243 wssm ackley?
There's hardly any room for improvement. I would suggest looking into the 6-6.5X47Lapua. It'll push a 105 to 3200 comfortably, with absolutely outstanding accuracy. I recently finished one for a customer. It shot in the ones during testing. It's my favorite 6!

Never thought of that combo, sounds like a shooter, How long of a barrel to get that velocity?

The 6wssm is already way overbore. Ackley improvement would only go further from any good.
I agree that the 6x47L is a better 6mm cartridge.
Far better.
With WSSMs, Winchester should have statred at 25cal, and went up from there..

25". Every one I've worked with has been superbly accurate.

Thanks for the info guys. I still don't know what to do, but keep the suggestions coming. 6X47 does sound interesting, and tempting.

Not to mention Lapua verses Winchester brass. that's a no brainer!
