243 questions
Ok I've just picked up a used sps varmint in 243, has a timney trigger and in a B and C A2 stock. As this is going to be my first 243 I'm wondering what loads to try first? Wanting to use it for long ange varmint and paper punching. Thanks guys!

Re: 243 questions
I've been shooting a 105 grain A-max with 46.5 grains of Win. 780 with a Remington magnum primer, OAL at 2.85. Velocity averages 3062 out of a Shilen 26" with a Stevens action.

Re: 243 questions
Nice score on the rifle.
I have that stock on a rem 700 Varmint SF in 223 AI.
For the 243 for long range stuff I would look at the hornady v-max in 87 grain weight it has a very nice ballistic coefficient that should help for reaching out there.
powder wise I would look at H4350 and H4831sc

Re: 243 questions
You may try 44grns H4350 or 45grns Imr4350 under a 95grn Berger vld, keep the velocity above 3k fps and it'll stay stabilized in your twist.
