S1, would you please give some information on the ones you use. We have a new addition to the group, thats getting in to LR shooting and wants a gun that doesn't recoil bad. We were going with a 6.5/284, but I think an accurate .24cal is just about right. In your opinion what is the max range a good shooter, with good wind call, could achieve on smallish(under 120lbs.) whitetial. Thanks.

S1, thanks for the info. I'm thinking about a 28in barrel, and AICS stock and probably a luppy scope. What twist does the 105gr A-MAX need to stabilize?
I know what you mean, the first time Amber shot a deer, she was shaking so bad, I thought she was going to pee herself. But she only needed one shot. A buck the next day, too. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img]
