.243 ammo question....

I don't handload yet so I currently stuck with over the counter ammo. I'm currently using the Winchester super X 100gr with decent results. However, I was comparing the ballistics with the Winchester ballistic tip 95gr and they are impressive. Will the factory barrell stabilize this hotter load? The rifle is a rem 700 built in the early 80's with very few rounds through it. Or any other suggestions?

Re: .243 ammo question....

It should, if the 100 shoot decent. only one way to find out, get some and test them. Also if you knew the twist rate, that would help out better.

For factory 243win ammo we shoot Winchester 95gr Ballistic Silvertips pretty much exclusivly. Deer dont like'em.
