Re: .243 AI is this claim true?

Where can one find an angle cosigner?? I need one for canyon shooting elk. I realize the problems accounting for up and downhill shooting. I have shot over many many animals because of this. I would like to set up a new drop chart with the angles and corresponding yardages. I think it would be a great tool, if not a must tool for the true Long Ranger.

Andy i think you are right that an alias stops all the bickering, i use diferent names because my daughters like to choose forum names for me, i have a different name for each forum.
At Guntrader i am Whistlin Jack or am i Home from the Hill or am i........? one of these days i will use the wrong name at the wrong forum.

Re: .243 AI is this claim true?

Andy, I recently picked up a 243AI with a 3 groove 28" barrel.

Your answer is this guys set-up no.

My set-up very close.

With the same 70 gr berger I'm running 3770 fps. With a scope hieght of 1.8 inches and a bc of .283.

+1 @ 100
0 @ 230
-.7 @ 280
-1.1 @ 300
-3 @400

Very close to what he claimed but not quite.

My disclaimer is other than my listed velocity none of this has been proven at the range, just a quick calc. at JMB

I will say my limited range time with this rifle and load has impressed me with it's flattness. I am far from settling on a load yet. My most recent testing has me running a 85 grain Speer SPBT @ 3520 fps. This bullet is suposed to have a bc of .404 according to Speer. But with only limited testing on a less than perfect day, it still needs work.

I have had many 243 AI, 28" hart bbls. 70g ballistic tips loaded with 48.5g of Win 760, Rem case, cci-250 primer launches the bullets at 3850 out of several bbls, shooting tiny little bug holes.
