.243 10" twist and 55 grain bullets ?

Using a 223 for eastern woodchucks. I want to reach out farther and I was thinking of the 22-250 but with all my reading I am now thinking of the 243. The 243 will have a 10" twist. Anyone have any experience shooting 55 grain with this twist in the 243. Powder suggestions appreciated.

My son's 243 really likes this load:

Nosler 55 gr Varminter, 45.0 gr RL-17, CCI 200 primer, 0.50 off the lands, 3,400 fps, ES 40, SD 19, 8 shots into one ragged hole at 100 yards with no cool down.

I've had great luck with factory loaded Winchester Supreme 55 grain Ballistic Tips in a 1:10" twist, half MOA out of my Weatherby Vanguard.

My X-Bolt has a 1 in 10" twist and it seems to shoot 55 gr. bullets more consistently than any other bullet weight. For a full power load (4000 fps+) I use a 55 gr Balllistic Tip with 45 grains of IMR 4064. For a more moderate load (3500 fps) I use a 55 gr Ballistic Tip with 40.5 grains of Varget.

I've also used a 55 gr Sierra Blitz with 40.5 grains of Varget. Accuracy and point of impact are virtually identical to the Ballitic Tip load.

For factory loads my vangaurd shoots the superformace 58g vmax well. 70g NTB shot a little better.

I worked up to hodgdon's max load of 45 grs Varget and the 55 gr Nosler Bt. in my Rem 700 243 with 24" barrel. Vel was a stunning 4000 fps. It absolutely turns jackrabbits inside out. Talk about flat shooting!

If you compare the .224 cal 55 gr nos bt to the .243 cal 55 gr bt the 243 has a higher BC!
