150 Scirocco in 7 mm STW?

Anyone tried this bullet in the STW. I have been tinkering with the 140 accubond best accuracy is 72.5 of H4831 holding .25" to .5" only 3200fps. Seems the closer i get to max load group increases. Only problem had an accubond fail.

I have not personnaly tried this bullet out of the STW but have had great luck with it out of 300rum. I killed a elk this year at 489, the bullet performed flawlessly! I can consistently shoot .5" at 100 yards. I have seen the 150 scirocco out of a 7rem mag and it also shots very well. Look back on the history of posts by John Burns he shoots a 7STW (or did) with a 150 scirocco and i have seen him take animals way out there. What problem did you have with the accubond?

Havent tried this bullet either, just thought that if you were still tinkering w/ the 140 gr AB, you might want to try 74 gr IMR 4350. I've had good luck w/ this combo. They're breaking 3400 fps.
hope it helps.

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but my STW/Accubond load is close to yours. I'm curious on the details with your failure...Wade

Had a buddy make a bad shot on a whitetail in alberta. It was 340 yards pretty stiff wind and he gut shot the deer. It ran straight at us then turned away for some reason he froze (My buddy) so i took the shot as he was running straight away from me at about 150 or so. Hit about 3 inches left of a texas heart shot hitting the left hind quarter. The bullet went in about 2.5" and the bone was still intact! It looked like someone took a baseball size chunk out of the deers left butt cheek. Deer went down like a sack of hammers and my buddy shot him once more. Wasnt a good experiecne at all. No sign of the bullet. I also have a buddy who shoots a 180 accubond out of a 300 jarret and i think he has had two failiures.
