Sharp Shooter Supply. He is a Savage only specialist. Great work, but his customer service is hit and miss.

You could also call Stockade. Kevin Rahill is also a Savage expert, but I'm not sure he has the jig to straighten actions.

Sounds like mine is fixed and ready for more shooting. Turns out the recoil lug was bottoming out in the slot in the block. So when I tightened the action screws, it actually but a downward torque on the entire action. He fixed it an bedded it while at it. Hopefully it works good now.

Re: 111 Long Range Hunter in 300 Win Mag

I picked up a 111LRH in 7mm Rem Mag, and the barrel is not free floated...

What is a good way to widen the barrel channel on the stock? How much space between the barrel and stock should I aim for?

Thanks,
Kevin

I am surprised that those aren't already floated, but then I don't own one.
I like to use the right sized dowel wrapped in sandpaper especially for the fore end. People use to say so a paper would slide through between the barrel and stock but that isn't really enough. I would go for 1/16" on the fore end. You can go tighter as you get closer to the barrel lug but just make sure it doesn't touch anywhere under recoil......Rich

Here is another quandry with the one I aquired. Line up the 4 holes on the action and tell me if they line up with the barrel? The answer is no.
