1000 yard 7mm mag

hey guys new member here,
i am just getting into long range stuff. i have been hunting since before i can remember. some friends always like to talk about how good of a shot they are, and we often compete, but they have stopped inviting me because i win. we always shoot 100 yards or less. i feel comfortable shooting my rifle up to about 300 or so maybe a little more. i thought that being ablw to shoot long is only about practice and skill. i have found out now that equiptment is a Very large part. i have a model 700 remmington 7mm mag with a Zeiss 3x12x56 conquest with a reticle 8. i love this gun. is it possible to turn this gun and scope into a 1000 yard plus gun and scope and if so what would yall suggest doing first and overall.

I would suspect it already is a 1000 yard gun you just need some education. Do you hand load? What model of rem 700 is it?

I have a 7RM Savage with a Nightforce. My shooting buddy has a Zeiss. I have no idea as to how much elevation adjustment the Zeiss has, but I would imagine it has plenty to get you to the 1000 mark.

As far as the caliber goes, you won't be disappointed.

Just beware, once you hit the gong at a grand, you will get the fever.

to be really honest i did not now that there were that any different types of model 700. i dont see anywhere on the gun where it says what "model" of model 700. i looked at pictures and it looks most lie the sps. how would i find out? also this scope does not have windage turrets, just the screw on caps and the penny style adjustments. is that a bolt on accessory or do i have to take it to a gun smith or do i need a new scope.

You're going to need a scope with target turrets IMO.

oh and no i do not hand load i really dont have time to, nor do i have the money to get started in that, i looked into doing it for shotgun shooting but it cost more to load target loads than to buy them from the store, may not be as good quality but dang i didnt have to do it
