Re: What scope would you put on my .270?

Here's why I'm hesitant on Zeiss: I do not use ballistic reticles to compensate drop; I want tall ajustable turrets. It has no focus (which isn't that important) and is in the high end of my budget. I'll go to my local shop and look at one and keep an open mind.

Can you buy aftermarket target turrets for a Conquest? Are they .25 MOA or less/more?

The Conquest 4-14x50 and 6.5-20x50 both have target turrets and a parallax adjustment on the side. You can also get them with a Z-Plex reticle instead of the Rapid Z reticles.

thats what it takes. Go check out a lot of different scopes and pick what you like the best. Keep in mind that for hunting, you will need light transmission more than you will focus in low light conditions. I love my turrets on the scopes that have them but for speed and ease out to 600 yards for hunting applications, the ballistic reticle has been flawless.

Kenton Industries is an authourized Zeiss repair facility and they also perform turret work for Zeiss. I sent my Zeiss 6.5x20x50mm to them and had elevation and windage turrets installed. They are very helpful and the service was fast. The turrets are easy to use and easy to adjust.

How much did that cost? Cause I've thought about sending my 3-12x56 30mm off and having that done, but was unsure of the cost.

MudRunner give them a call. The cost on mine won't help you. I took advantage of a special that Zeiss was offering thru Kenton. I do know that cost is affected by the type of turrets of on your particular scope. If you leave a message they will return the call within the same day is my experience. A couple of times a live body answered the phone. When I left specifics of what I wanted a Tech returned the call. He was extremely knowledgeable and made an alternate suggestion that made a lot of sense for my application. Didn't mention in my post that the clicks have a positive feel.

Re: What scope would you put on my .270?

The clicks on my 6.5-20x50 target turrets are very positive and solid, as well. Very repeatable and feel extemely well built and solid.

The clicks on my 3-12x56 (standard covered turrets) are very precise and solid, as well. I've just had nothing but positive results with both of my Zeiss scopes since I started using them back in 2008. 0 issues.

My Kahles Helia KX is a phenomenal scope, too. The glass is slightly crisper than the Zeiss, which is hard to imagine. It's like looking through an HD camera or something. It's insane the quality of the glass in both brands. They just take all the glare out, and you just see everything in its natural brilliant colors and clarity. One of my buddies shot my A-Bolt w/ the Kahles at the range, and as soon as he sat down and looked through the scope, the first thing out of his mouth was, "You know I really hate you....Right?" All I could do was laugh.
