What scope would you put on my .270?

I have a Savage 111 in .270 Win that I am looking for glass for. Its is bedded into laminate stock and is pretty lightweight. I bought it as s lightweight carrying rifle. It has a 24" sporter barrel. 90% of my shots are under 100 yards, but I do have the opportunity to shoot out to around 400 yards. So, what should I put on it? Here is what I am looking for:

-30mm or 1" tube
-NOT a duplex reticle
-relitively lightweight
-2-3x on low power
-9-15x on high power
-mil/mil or moa/moa
-I prefer (tall) target turrets w/ positive adjustments
-a focus of some sort (preferably side focus, but AO is fine)
-I really, really, really want to keep it under $400

What would you put on it?

I have a bedded 110 .270 and topped it recently with a burris e1 4.5-14-42 ballistic plex. Nice decently lightweight glass at $349 gun is shooting great. I reload and have called burris a few times with load details and have had great can getting drop charts and ordering a sunshade

I like the 3-9x40 Illuminated version too! Nice price tag, and it looks like it has taller turrets for dialing distance, which I strongly prefer over ballistic reticles. Though I do like the look of the reticle, but I think I like it based on my absolute hatred of duplex reticles (I dont know why, I just hate them).

Thanks for the idea! I've read good things about burris!

I was also looking at a Kruger Tacdriver T4i 2.5-10x50. Reading good things about those as well. And they have more of the features I'm looking for. Thansk!

If all you are looking for is 400 yards and in and its a hunting rifle. I would look at the zeiss conquest 3-9X40 with the Z 600. Great glass in a 1" tube and quick holdover points with .5 and 1 moa windage adjustments. I got one 4 years ago and it is a dream to shoot out of my 30-06 and has taken game out to 550 with many over 400. The price is only $50 more than you are looking to spend but it is very good glass and easy to use IMHO.

Yea, where are you finding a Conquest with Rapid-Z Reticle for under $450? The Krger I'm looking at is $300-$350 and the Burris E1 is $300. For the money, these two are seriously winning.

Go to the sponsor marketplace on this website. Cameraland has the 3-9 Conquest with rapid-z 600 for $420. It is probably the best scope for your application for the money.

Like mentioned before.....You can't go wrong with Zeiss glass.
