Re: Vortex or Vanguard or Leupold Binos?
Played around with the leupolds some more this morning looking toward sun against a shady hillside, still clear, but slightly muted colors looked away and quartering away from the sun into deep shadows and could see everything very well.
These newer coatings are awesome (THese being the first binocs I've bought in close to 20 years).
One thing I did not mention: I feel, as a west coast bt hunter, that sticking with the 8x4X binoc is a good choice in our low light hunting windows. This is specifically why I wanted to test them in low light situation. THis evening I will further work with them.
I messed with the eye cups some more and now feel it's a non issue because I do not need to pull them away to use. I also like the diopter adjustment is a pull to un-lock, push to lock feature that will keep the binoc n my adjustment.
The open frame is easy to grasp, and with two pivot points should keep the binoc in alignment better than my nikons that I had to send back to factory because of mis-alignment.
I'd suggest seeking out and handling/using each of the models prior to plunking down cash.
I found it hard to locate the leupolds but did get to handle a set at a travelling sporting good van that was at a local sporting good store for a weekend.
