Vortex PST Disappointment

This is similar to the LEUPOLD=CHINA thread. Products fail, period. To error is human and the OP has the right to express their opinion. These things will happen and I believe this is were a company sets it's self apart. I stop buying Nikon years ago because of their CS period. They build a fine product but I would like to know that if I get a lemon that they will stand behind it.

I would like to see the OP come back and tell us how his experience goes with VORTEX after he contacts them. I think that has carries a lot more weight about the product and the company than some specs.

For what little it's worth, I do like to see pics/descriptions of issues people have. That way, if I encounter something similar I can better self-diagnose my own gear.

Plus, I LOVE to hear about customer service (*hint* *hint*, OP). Good CS has significant impact on my buying decisions.

I've actually seen debris in a scope tube a few times. I had a Zeiss Conquest with debris that would bounce up and stick to the internal lenses when shooting and it would fall down when shooting the next shot or two. Another couple were a Burris Black Diamond, and a Nightforce with the same issue.

The best part of the story is that I pulled the scopes, told them about my issues, sent them back, and got a my scope repaired and sent with a clean bill of health free of charge. I will say though, the debris never hindered the gun's capability to hit what it was aiming at. At most, the debris was annoying. Over time, if you own enough scopes there's a good chance you'll see it. This stuff happens. Let Vortex fix it for you and drive on.

I'm haveing the same problem with my Vortex PST 4-16X50. It looks like some paint flecks have chipped off the inside of the scope and are now on one of the internal lenses. Still shooting it, hasn't affected any accuracy or tracking that I can tell. I haven't contacted Vortex yet but will after the season.

This is a nuetral place to discuss optics right? Why jump a guy for posting this?

I've heard good things about Vortex and I'm sure they will rectify this.

I love all you guys posting on page 2. I hope Vortex people will take advantage of this crisis and redeem yourselves. I must confess that I'm seriously deciding between Vortex PST and Sightron SIII Long Range, and positive response from Vortex will swing much in your favour.

The OP sung the prasies of this scope when he got it, and now he has not even given them a chance to make it right before comming on here and bitching. He also has not chimed back in since posting.
