I have a spec on my scope that appeared a couple months back. I finally had the time to look at my scope and make sure the speck was not on an exterior lens, (its not). While doing this I learned the inside of my scope has MANY stray particles. The inside of the tube even has what looks to be dried water marks. I took these two pictures the other night when I was off, had to hold the gun, flash light and camera it was fun. The think the spec is one of the “stray” particles from the inside of the scope. There are so many I have not even tried to count them.
Very disappointed. I will contact Vortex and see what they have to say about this spec and the stray particles. I am not a happy camper.

I dont know why you chose to post this. You should have just sent it back to Vortex they will replace it or clean. They are a great company with outstanding customer service. Every company has products that have issues from time to time. This thread should have been about how great the company was after you sent the scope back and they made it right for you.

Wow! Post an issue with a rifle get feedback but post an issue with an optic and get heckled. lol This could be a common issue and if nobody says a word who would find out about it? The guy had an experience and spoke up. I'm sure there will be follow up or at least there should be. This is still a fairly new product after all and still kind of hard to get.
Just checked two of the PST's I have. A 4-16 and 6-24. Both show the same watery dried spots inside but only my 24x has junk coating on the inside of the lens. I noticed something the last time I had it out but forgot to check it out. Only visible on 6x most of the time but there was a large spec that was moving around as I shot last time. Now I just have a bunch of small specs clustered around the lens. I haven't been able to see any damage to the outside of the lens but I'll look again just in case. If it turns out to be internal this will be my second return. I'll agree they are quick and have great customer service but that isn't going to help my elk hunt this weekend. I really hope it is truly cosmetic
Vortex will take care of it for sure. My last return was maybe a week turn around and Scott at Vortex called personally and looked over the scope while I was on the phone. It was awesome! If I remember right they paid shipping both ways like 2 day. I've loved my PST thus far and will be more than happy to let Vortex take a look again. I will of course not be so happy about getting the thing setup again and spending more cash on sending rounds downrange in the process but I'll have fun with it.
I've heard stories of Vortex overnighting things to hunters in the field. I am sure they will get you fixed up FAST if you tell them your prediciment. Give it a shot!
