Variable Optic

Hi All, I have a leupold vari-xIII 4.5 14 varial
ble scope on my 7mm mag. On the front of the scope is a yardage dial marked from 50 100 200 to infinity back is magnifying 4.5 to 14 x how do I adjust these two front and rear for hunting. Any advice is appreciated or if some one knows where I can get info on how to adjust variable scopes. Thanks
