Swarovski BRX reticle

Hey everyone,

I am looking to get into a high end scope for my X Bolt 300 win.

I am looking at a Swarovski 3-10x42 with the BRX reticle.

I have read some reviews of the reticle that says it is too fine to pick up when out in the field. Does anyone have any experience with this reticle? I hunt western South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana mainly.

Can anyone give me a go or no go on this reticle?

Also, do you think 3-10 power is enough for a 300 win mag?

Re: Swarovski BRX reticle

I have one on my 257 Accumark and love it. I feel Swaro glass is bright and crisp that is what makes it work. To put that fine of a reticle on a lesser glassed scope would disappoint. Get it and you will like it.

Do you have a problem finding the reticle when in brush or anything like that? Or is it always easy to pick up?

Re: Swarovski BRX reticle

I think the BRX is fine in lower light, obviously not as good as a BRH with the thick reticle. For long range shooting the BRX shines by a large margin. I have a Zeiss Victory on my McWhorter 300 WBY and love it. It seems to split the difference between the BRX and BRH.

It all depends on kind of hunting situations you will be in. If I was chasing coyotes in the snow I would definitely want the BRX for the long running shots. In contrast if I did most of hunting in the bush shooting hogs or black bears I would buy the BRH or the Zeiss.

Re: Swarovski BRX reticle

So in my sitation it is more of prarie shooting. not much for trees, but I have been in them before.

The majority of my shots are 200+ yards with nothing but some grass and dirt....

I have been in some canyon type shooting scenarios also.

Hey Jeremy,

Did you end up getting this? I am anxious to hear how you like it. I just got the BRX and the reticles are a bit thin... Doing some mad research to see if I will be keeping this or exchanging. Thanks!!
