Assuming you need an 8" diameter properly centered kill zone, a scope with a 50mm objective can have a 4" offset if your eye is positioned incorrectly at as little as 500 yards if the fixed scope is focused for 100 yards. That allows for no other errors. if the scope has a fixed focus of 200 yards, that distance would move to 1000 yards but again uses all of the error margin.
Since parallax error is easily avoidable by properly using an adjustable objective there's little excuse not to use one for long range hunting.
