Yes, Nightforce are made in Japan by Light Optical Works.

It also says made in Japan on the scope.

nfx made in japan? why is australia on box? good idea to dump bsa,simmons,tasco they are junk! i just didn't say it.stick with what you can afford from like burris,nikon leopold 1-2-3 series i was going to say weaver but i had one that was great optically but returned to factory 3 times before dumping (a while ago)

What does it say on the NXS scope, mine says made in Japan, like a few dozen or so others I have seen.

i saw one yesterday and it did say made in japan on it, but also said in the paprework australia? can someone else clear this up? is it australian glass???? not austria like swarovski

Nightforce is marketed by Lightforce Australia. Built as said before by Light Optical Works, Japan. At a guess the glass may be Hoya Japan, (does not matter where the glass is from, buyers spec the grade, coatings are more important than origin of glass, that said Schott (Germany)is said to be a more pure glass. Light Optical builds everything in house, it can be top quality stuff (a buyer orders a spec and they build what you want to the spec you want). The NXS design as far as I know is Nightforce USA.

I did talk with a Lightforce (Australian) rep at IWA 2004, we did briefly speak about Light Optical being better than Hakko, where some of the very old Nightforce scopes were built (not current models), the problems there were related to quality control as Hakko outsource.
