Scope Selection for new LR Rifle

I ended up with the Leupold VX-III 4.5x14x40 LR with a BC reticle. After considering all options this seemed to fit my needs. The BC reticle works very well with the 300 WM, so I'll have hold overs to 500 yds, and I'll have the 30 mm tube for a fair amount of turret adjustment. Weight was another consideration, I wanted this to be on the light side for packing. Most of the time we stay pretty mobile.

My 700 was restocked with a McMillan Edge Sporter stock at Hill Country Rifles. They just called last Thursday and said it was ready to go. It will be here this Thursday. They said it shot close to .40 with Hornady factory 180's. Should be a good one.
