SCOPE RETICLE

Would someone expain to me what a VRC reticle is. The one I saw was on a Simmons Pro 50 scope and it looked like an extra horizontal line about crosshairs. [img]images/icons/confused.gif[/img]

From the Simmons website:
"The 808820 and 808825 feature the VRC (variable range converter) reticle system. The reticle accurately provides the distance to your target: simply rotate the power ring until the animal’s body is bracketed by the two horizontal crosshairs."
