scope base question

As I've said in my other posts I have a Marlin x7vh with a Bushnell Elite 6500 4.5-30x50 om it mounted on leopold mark 4 medium bases. If I were to get a 20 MOA weaver base what I need high rings instead?

Re: scope base question

How close is your scope to your barrel now?

Unless it is really tight I highly doubt you will need to change ring height.

Re: scope base question

Ok well i measured and ant the tightest spot (right at the beginning of the objective lense) its got 1/8" of space between it and the barrel. I also have a 5" sunshade on the scope. Do you think ill get away with medium rings on a Weaver 20moa base?

Re: scope base question

I would say the canted base would cut your gap in half. Which in my opinion is too close according to your measurements. Go to higher rings just to be safe.

And now you can put butler caps on it too.
