a quality scope

Hey guys, im looking for a quality scope for under 350 dollars. I really want a 4-12X42,44, but nothing over 50. I have looked at some leupolds but damn they are expensive and I dont think that the Vx-i are a quality scope just from some of the reviews I have read. Any idea's on a good quality scope.

i want to put it on a .270wsm so I want the kind of magnification to help me be accurate when i reach out and touch something!

Your criteria screams NIKON. Most of which have limited adjustment but great optics. Bushnell's 3200 5-15x40 has the same limited adjustments.

I was actually on their website and I really like their scopes... I dont really like the side focus tho... i dont want to be fooling around with the scope trying to get a clear picture when a deer goes walking right by...

The VX-1 and VX-11 are built with 47yo technology. Anything over 10x really needs an A.O.

I bought a VXIIc 4-12x40 AO second hand from a prominent on-line trading company. Then sent it back to Leupold to fit click adjustment turrets and service the scope which cost less than US$100. Total cost was less than new. I have it on my .223.

It maybe an option for you.

sounds good too.. hmmm... for a .270wsm i definately want something that will allow me to see at 400 yards... i just dont think 10X is enough ya know! I guess I wil have to get an A.O. after all.. i just dont like a scope you have to twist 25 knobs before you can see what your shooting at!

Got to say I really like the speed with a side focus optic over trying to twist the frontend objective to focus the optic. If you've never used this side focus feature before, I guess I can understand being scared(lack of a better word only) of it.

Run down to the local gun shop and try one out before you try talking yourself out of one.......

i own several Nikons with side focus, and have NEVER had to adjust for a single shot. Just set it at about 200 yds, and make sure the eyepeice focused in and you wont have to touch it
