Pentax response to parallax??--Help

my finish looks like a back chalk board. the newer ones are like a shiny matte black if that is a an accurate description.

    The last 2 years I've heard all the hype and buzz about the new Pentax stuff, and every year I look at this stuff at SHOT and am totally underwhelmed. I can't figure out what I'm missing.
