Pentax response to parallax??--Help

Have I totally lost my mind?

Here's my e-mail and Pentax's response.

My Email:

I have a 6-24 Lightseeker 30 Riflescope with an adjustable objective.

The problem is that the scope doesn't have enough parallax adjustment to make it parallax free past 200yds. Without the ability to dial out the parallax it is impossible to shoot with precision at long range. I would expect the Lightseeker to have enough adjustment to be able to dial out the parallax to 1000yds.

I would like to return this scope and be provided with one that I can use at long range..1000yds.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for contacting Pentax.

The parallax adjustment is for distances INSIDE of 100yds. There is no need for parallax adjustment beyond 100yds, and the scope does not provide for it.

    There in lies the problem of attempting to use general purpose scopes for long range hunting and shooting as they don't take the needs of the long range shooter seriously....

    If this tech guy is correct, I would never buy one of those scopes.

    I gave the scope a try since I heard some good things about them.
    I'll just take this scope off and put on my Nightforce.
    I can't believe a scope rep would make such a bold and inaccurate statement.
    I will never buy another Pentax for long range.
