I am a collector of Pecar Berlin scopes - any out there that you are looking to move on?

Also interested in any literature; boxes; instructions; sales info etc...

I have a 4x81 by pecar. Don`t know where the 81 comes from as the front lens is only 38mm. Good little scope,very clear ,centre post with point and 2 side posts. £50 plus postage.

I have 3 Pecar scopes. 2 fixed 8 power ( on 2 243's ) and 1 variable 1.5 - 6 I think on my 35 Whelen.
Malcom Eames from optical restorers works on Pecars he does restoration jobs.
I think he was trained by the Pecar "family". He work is good and reasonably priced.
Malcom Eames is in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Pecar scopes appear on Ausssie ebay every month or so.

PS the '81' refers to relative brightness not objective size...

My friend picked up a Pecar Berlin that we think came from a Mauser. We have the mounts, and it has only a top adjustment. Something is loose inside, that appears to the the cross hair unit. It kinda moves around as you rotate the scope. It is a 4x81 with the half rings attached to the front bell, and the turret and ocular lens. My name is Rachel

The 81 refers to the rating used by Pecar for measuring 'twilight factor' or the ability to use the scope at low light.

Hence 8x45 for a 40mm objective etc.

I have a few Pecars including two 4xJr but I won't part with them for the world. They are too good compared with modern massed produced glass. Not all the reticles are interchangeable depending on the model of scope.

I emailed S & B and and asked them if they had taken over Pecar and do they do Pecar repairs. I received a reply from a Klaus Gorzel in their service Department who stated they had not taken over Pecar and that I contact:
