The Olympus WP1 happens to be a great little pocket binocular. Waterproof, and sharp. In a known comparison the larger version WP1's are extremely similar to a Nikon Monarch ATB in all aspects. That's a great price. If you go with it you will really enjoy using it. One thing, if you have the option for the 8x version, you may find in a compact it is easier to hold steady.
