IMO I think if a guy is going to be looking for a high end spotting scope they will go straight to Zeiss, Swaro, and Leica to fit their needs. I don't think Nikon even pops into their mind, even though i know the nikon fieldscope 82mm is right up there with the three optically.

i agree 100%, i'm a fan of the fieldscope 82 ED myself, but optically this scope is right up there with swarovski, the edg binoculars are more comfortable that the slc binoculars to me, and optically really nice too.

the big benefit to the EDG scope is because it's getting established, you can find some great deals and they are offering a free camera to boot.

have you gotten to look at one of these yet? they are awesome scopes
