Nightforce and Swarovski Scopes, true MOA turret sdjustments or IPHY?
Was looking at getting a new scope and am looking at the nightforce with reticle in 1st focal plane or a swarovski. I just found out that some scope manufactures have adustments in IPHY (inches per hundred yards) and not in true MOA adjustment, such as leupold. I would be using the scope for long range hunting. It seems like the IPHY would be difficult to use drop charts for and that a true minute of angle adjustment would be better. SO question 1 what do the nightforce and swarovski have? (IPHY or True MOA) Question 2 is there a difference, or is one better than another IPHY vs. True MOA ? Thanks for the help.

I have a leupold and I use nightforce on a ppc If it says come up 15 MOA then I dial up 15 MOA if I do my part and judge the wind then I pull the trigger and hit the target so can you explain how leupold is not a true MOA ? Not wanting to argue just curious.

There is a difference in MOA( 1.047"@100 yards) and IPHY (1"@100 yards) the error would be amplified the further away your target is if you calculate with one but your scope uses the other.
As long as you know which your scope uses that I don't see what problems you could have. You can print drop charts either way.

I used to count clicks befor I had joined this site now I only think in terms of MOA as I believe this is the best way.

I called nightforce and swarovski and their reps told me that both are in true minute of angle adjustments, not IPHY.

I also prefer MOA. If you use IPHY you don't have to count clicks anymore than MOA.
