Nightforce NXS 30% better than old style?

Been toying w/ buying a nightforce either 8x32 or 12x42. Will be using it for targets and prairie dogs both past 600 yards. will be mounted on a 6x284 Win. Is the new NXS that much better or will the old benchrest model suit me fine. Is the glass any better-- basically what else comes w/ the 30% higher price tag?

not exactly sure what you mean by that " wind reader or shoot and spot". I would gues that I do both. The rifle I'll mount the NF on will be 22-25 lbs. w/ a muzzle brake. I hope to be able to spot my shot out to 500 yards or so. Wind is probably the most difficult variable to guess at longer ranges.
